Liberty Children’s Art Project (LCAP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit art enrichment organization for rural children founded in 1995. The organization’s mission is to provide an environment of discovery, creativity and experimentation in the visual arts for underserved youth in the greater Marquette/Alger County of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Classes are offered through LCAP in special school days, after school and summer art enrichment programs to children of all ages.

History Art Camp
Hands On!! Art and History Camp Youth ages 8-12 were invited to join Liberty Children’s Art Project and the Marquette Regional History Center for an immersion into local history and multi-media art making. We explored the exhibit of Historical Photography in our Region as we created art for our time.
Hands On!! Art and History Camp 2023
We collaborated with the History Center’s History Club through passed out materials and virtual zoom art lessons in the Covid 19 pandemic winter/spring of 2021
Fabric sewn square mural and painted mural inspired by Picture Rocks National Park. These collaborative murals created by history club members won honors at the Marquette Summer County Fair in 2022 and 2023.
